U.S. Bank Robbed In Walnut Creek Friday

An apparently unarmed man robbed a U.S. Bank in Walnut Creek this afternoon, police said.

The man demanded cash from a teller at the U.S. Bank located at 2890 N. Main St. around noon and made off with an undisclosed amount of money, police said.

He did not appear to have a weapon.

Officers called to the scene attempted to locate the suspect but were unable to find him.
           
Police said the suspect is described as a black man who is about 5 feet 6 inches to 5 feet 7 inches tall with a medium build and short, dark hair. He was wearing a colorful plaid shirt, dark pants and sunglasses at the time of the robbery.

Police have released a surveillance photo of the suspect and are asking anyone with information about his whereabouts to call (925) 943-5844.
