Baby From Walnut Creek Drowns In Concord Swimming Pool
BREAKING: Police performed CPR on the 1-year-old girl, but she was pronounced dead at a hospital.

WALNUT CREEK, CA — A missing baby who drowned in a swimming pool Sunday afternoon in Concord has been identified as Molly Scott from Walnut Creek, according to the Contra Costa County coroner's office.
At 4:43 p.m., officers were called to a home in the 2100 block of Leland Way on a report of a missing 1-year-old girl.
Family members and police officers searched the area for several minutes before finding the child unconscious in the home's backyard swimming pool. Officers performed CPR until paramedics arrived, police said.

The victim was taken to a hospital where she was later pronounced dead, police said.
According to Concord Police Cpl. Chris Blakely, the home belonged to Molly's relatives.

The in-ground swimming pool was enclosed in a 5- to 6-foot-tall fence, and police do not yet know how the child got into the pool area, Blakely said.
