Walnut Creek Closures: Neiman Marcus Shutters Amid Pandemic
Luxury department store Neiman Marcus closed the doors to its Walnut Creek location after the company filed for bankruptcy last year.

WALNUT CREEK, CA — Neiman Marcus has reportedly closed its Walnut Creek location, according to the company's website. The closure comes months after the corporation filed for and emerged from bankruptcy last year amid the coronavirus pandemic.
In early July, A&G Real Estate released a statement announcing that the Walnut Creek Neiman Marcus store would be up for lease. The store officially closed last week, the Mercury News reported.
Neiman Marcus, based in Texas, filed for Chapter 11 in May and emerged from bankruptcy in September, according to multiple reports.

The Walnut Creek store, which opened in 2012, was the 42nd location for the company and featured commission artwork by 30 Bay Area artists. The downtown store included a cafe, a special event room, alteration services and shopping areas for both men and women.
