Man In Crosswalk Hit By Vehicle In Walnut Creek
The crash impacted the morning commute.
WALNUT CREEK, CA — A crash in the pre-dawn darkness sent a pedestrian to the hospital in Walnut Creek Thursday morning.
Police say a 60-year-old man suffered minor injuries when a vehicle struck him on Ygnacio Valley Road. The collision was reported at 5:21 a.m. on westbound Ygnacio Valley at San Carlos Drive, Walnut Creek police Lt. Andy Brown said.
A vehicle in the No. 3 westbound lane struck the man while he walked in the crosswalk on the east side of the intersection, Brown said.

The victim was taken to nearby John Muir Medical Center to be treated for his injuries. The driver stopped at the scene and cooperated with investigators, according to Brown.
The collision prompted delays for morning commuters.
