Walnut Creek Crash Victim Ejected From Car

The CHP reports that the vehicle rolled, and the driver was ejected. The crash was found around 4 a.m. Sunday.

WALNUT CREEK, CA — A 22-year-old Concord man died early Sunday morning in Walnut Creek when he crashed his vehicle into a concrete divider off of northbound Interstate Highway 680, officials with the California Highway Patrol said.

The CHP said its officers came upon the crash at 4:02 a.m. Sunday near the freeway and Ygnacio Valley Road. They found a black 2003 Volkswagen GTI had overturned and the driver had been ejected.

According to the CHP, officers and paramedics tried to save the man's life at the scene of the vehicle crash, but he died. The man, Alexis Ceballos-Alvarez, apparently failed to negotiate a curve on the Ygnacio Valley Road off-ramp, drove the car off the left side of the ramp, up an embankment and into a concrete divider, the CHP said.
