Walnut Creek Kids Get Ticket To Ride All Summer Long
The Summer Youth Pass lets kids take unlimited rides on public transit all summer long for just $35.
WALNUT CREEK, CA —For $35, kids ages 6-18 can take unlimited bus rides all summer long thanks to a program spearheaded by 511 Contra Costa.
The Summer Youth Pass is valid June 1 through Aug. 31 for kids using these transit systems: County Connection (services the Tri-Valley), Tri Delta Transit and WestCAT. This same pass regularly costs $60, but 511 Contra Costa is kicking in a $25 per pass subsidy to make it more affordable for kids and their families.
Funding for the program is provided by the Contra Costa Transportation Authority and the Bay Area Air Quality Transportation Fund for Clean Air.
