Walnut Creek Man Killed In Crash

WALNUT CREEK, CA — Tragic news to start the week in Walnut Creek — the Alameda County coroner's bureau has identified a crash victim as a 22-year-old Walnut Creek man. Edgar Valdez-Parra died Saturday morning on eastbound Interstate Highway 580 in the area of the Altamont Pass.

Valdez-Parra died in the crash, which was reported around 7 a.m.

The crash prompted the closure of the far right lane of the highway for hours. No other information about the crash was immediately available.
