Walnut Creek Police Make DUI Arrests, Tow Vehicles

Nightlife is returning to downtown Walnut Creek, and police have a reminder about designated drivers.

WALNUT CREEK, CA — The Walnut Creek Police Department arrested two suspected drunk drivers last Friday night and towed their vehicles.

One of the suspects was passed out at the wheel, while the other was driving erratically, police said.

The first driver arrested fell asleep in his pickup while in the drive-thru of a restaurant.

The second driver was spotted by a patrol officer.

"As a friendly reminder as businesses open back up and you’re having a good time in our downtown areas please be safe and use good judgement," police said on social media. "Several ride-hailing services saturate our downtown area and would be happy to have you as their customers!"
