Walnut Creek Woman Killed In Crash

The coroner has released her identity.

WALNUT CREEK, CA — A woman who was killed when the car she was driving crashed into a freeway wall in the Oakland hills on Friday afternoon was identified by the Alameda County coroner's bureau on Monday as 82-year-old Maria Boukis of Walnut Creek.

Police said Boukis was alone in her vehicle when it crashed at 39th and Aliso avenues, just below state Highway 13 and near Redwood Heights Elementary School, at about 2:33 p.m. on Friday.

Boukis was pronounced dead at the scene.
