Yale Ave., daily from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. through Jan. 11, with optional free mulch if you bring containers. The guide also lists similar post-holiday tree drop-off options in nearby cities like Aurora, Littleton, Centennial, Douglas County, and Golden.

• Willie Joe Gonzales out of prison in Colorado after new science exonerates him (cbsnews.com) — A Lakewood attorney played a central role in freeing Willie Joe Gonzales, whose Colorado murder conviction was overturned after new forensic science suggested a child’s fatal injuries could have come from a fall. Gonzales, now out after 22 years, pleaded guilty to negligence with time served and hopes his case inspires others claiming wrongful convictions based on outdated science.
