During the Thanksgiving holiday weekend there were several fatal accidents across Connecticut resulting in at least five deaths and numerous injuries. Here is a recap of those stories. And see below for the story involving a heroic rescue by an off-duty firefighter.

Wednesday: Rain, mainly after 9am. High near 58. Light southeast wind becoming south 10 to 15 mph in the morning. Winds could gust as high as 29 mph. Chance of precipitation is 90%.

Thursday: Sunny, with a high near 45. West wind 10 to 16 mph, with gusts as high as 31 mph.

Friday: Sunny, with a high near 45. Northwest wind 5 to 7 mph becoming southwest in the afternoon
