“This is a huge win for Connecticut families and all of the people who rely on the Affordable Care Act for healthcare,” Attorney General Tong said. “The ACA has been a cornerstone of our healthcare system, covering millions of Americans and granting patient protections that lowered the cost of healthcare for cancer survivors, allowed young adults to stay on their parents’ plans and expanded Medicaid. In Connecticut alone, 250,000 residents have benefited from the expansion of Medicaid. Thousands of young adults under the age of 26 have health insurance through their parents' plans. Nearly half a million residents with pre-existing conditions have health coverage as a result of ACA protections. We can all sleep better tonight knowing that our healthcare is protected, lawful and here to stay.”
