Conditioning For CT High School Fall Athletes to Resume Monday
Non-contact sport-specific skill work may begin next Saturday, according to CIAC officials.

CONNECTICUT — Following another meeting with the Connecticut Department of Public Health, the Connecticut Interscholastic Athletic Conference (CIAC) Board of Control voted at its Sunday meeting to restart conditioning programs for all fall sports, beginning Monday.
Schools may return to the conditioning activities that were being conducted since July 6. On Saturday, schools may begin non-contact sport-specific skill work. Both conditioning and skill work are to take part in small cohorts in adherence with guidance from the National Federation of State High School Associations and the DPH, according to a statement from the CIAC.
Conducting conditioning and sport-specific skill work as non-contact and in small cohorts is classified as low-risk regardless of the sport, the CIAC said.

"The CIAC will work this week to finalize the timeline of full team activities and contest play," the statement reads. "As it has done through this entire process, the board will continue to monitor the situation and the plan will remain fluid."
The Board of Control reiterated any fall sport that is canceled will not be played at a later time during the 2020-2021 school year.
