Connecticut's 4th Of July Fireworks 2020 Guide: When and Where

At least four Connecticut towns — Naugatuck, New Britain, Stamford and Waterbury — are still planning July 4 fireworks shows.

CONNECTICUT — The coronavirus pandemic has canceled almost everything this spring and summer, including most July 4 fireworks celebrations.

But not every community in Connecticut has canceled fireworks plans. In fact, as of now, four towns are still planning to go ahead with their annual celebrations.

An overwhelming number of towns canceled fireworks shows and others postponed them for later this summer. The cancellations haven't stopped folks from lighting off fireworks for the past two weeks at all hours of the night.

It's led to numerous police departments across the state to warn they will increase enforcement against illegal fireworks. Hartford even set up a special hotline for people to register complaints, as they were receiving hundreds of calls a day.
