CT Coronavirus Updates: Hospitalizations Increase Again
Coronavirus hospitalizations reached their highest level since July 23, but the number can ebb and flow between days.

CONNECTICUT — Connecticut’s positive coronavirus test rate seems to have achieved a new normal slightly above 1 percent. The state reported 136 positive tests out of 10,790 results for a 1.3 percent positive rate Tuesday.
Nationally, the positive test rate rolling average for the past seven days was 4.8 percent, which is the lowest it has been since late June, according to John Hopkins University.
Hospitalizations increased by seven patients up to 71, which is its highest level since July 23. Still, that leaves plenty of capacity within Connecticut’s hospital system and isn’t out of the normal for Connecticut over the past couple months. Net hospitalizations tend to ebb and flow between 50 and 70 patients.
