CT Patch Memorial Day Survey: What Are Your Plans?
Memorial Day normally means a weekend of beaches and BBQs, but the pandemic is changing that for many people.

CONNECTICUT — Memorial Day is right around the corner and normally that means the start of BBQ and beach season, but this year is different due to the coronavirus pandemic.
The National Weather Service forecast calls for a chance of rain Saturday, which may douse BBQ and beach plans anyways, but Sunday looks like an ideal weather day with sun and a high of 68 degrees.
State parks and beaches will be open for the holiday, but there are rules. Six feet of social distancing space must be maintained and groups over five are prohibited. Parking capacity may be changed if crowds make social distancing harder to maintain.

For town beaches the rules are set by town officials with many opting for rules that are similar to state guidance.
Connecticut's phase one reopening is scheduled for May 20 and that will bring back some businesses such as hair salons and outdoor dining.
