CT Radio Host To Quit, Frustrated By Politics: Report
Joe D'Ambrosio said on his show this week he will not renew his contract at WTIC-AM in June.
HARTFORD, CT — Joe D'Ambrosio has been a fixture on Connecticut radio for decades, but this week he reportedly reached his limit, according to the Hartford Courant.
On his WTIC-AM morning show Tuesday with co-host Ray Dunaway, D'Ambrosio said he will not renew his contract when it expires in June, stressing he's been frustrated over not being allowed to speak his opinion.
The revelation came following a call from a listener — and supporter of President Donald Trump — who chided D'Ambrosio during a discussion about the election and how, the caller said, Democrats were trying to steal it.

D'Ambrosio, who has worked at the station for years, said the caller was one of the reasons why he would leave in June.
Patch reached out to D'Ambrosio via Facebook but did not immediately receive a reply. He declined to comment to the Courant.

In 2017, D'Ambrosio left NBC CT after 25 years, the same year he ended a sports talk radio show on WTIC. He began his mornings stint with Dunaway in 2018.
The Laurel, which also wrote about D'Ambrosio's decision, reports the host might have clashed with WTIC in part because the station's top show is Rush Limbaugh's.
