CT Reports Highest Coronavirus Positivity Test Rate Ever

Gov. Ned Lamont said Connecticut is likely seeing some of the "Thanksgiving effects" in its new numbers.

CONNECTICUT — Gov. Ned Lamont called the new coronavirus numbers for Connecticut the "good, bad and the ugly." The real "ugly" number is the fact Connecticut had its highest coronavirus positivity test rate ever at 7.13 percent.

An additional 4,751 coronavirus cases were reported in Connecticut over the past 24 hours. Since the pandemic began Connecticut has reported 126,177 coronavirus cases.

The good news is that the number of hospitalizations declined for the first time in a month. There were 11 fewer hospitalizations in Connecticut and the current number is 1,191.

The bad news is that Connecticut saw an additional 20 deaths over the past day bringing the total number of coronavirus-related deaths to 5,111. Over the past three days, Connecticut has reported 91 coronavirus-related deaths.

Since the pandemic began, Connecticut has administered 3.38 million tests and a staggering 66,645 over the past day.

Lamont said Connecticut is likely seeing some "Thanksgiving effects" in its increase positive test rate.

New Haven County: 391; Fairfield County: 350; Hartford County: 319; New London County: 60; Middlesex County: 31; Litchfield County: 19; Windham County: 16; and Tolland County, 5.
