CT Uptick In Coronavirus Hospitalizations, Positive Test Rate

The state's coronavirus daily positive test rate and hospitalizations increased Tuesday, but one day doesn't make a trend.

CONNECTICUT — Connecticut saw a slight uptick in its daily coronavirus positive test rate and number of hospitalizations Tuesday, but one day doesn’t make a trend.

The state reported 1,357 new cases and a 3.92 percent positive test rate. The daily rate had been below three percent since Feb. 10 — the seven-day positive test rate average is 2.57 percent.

Coronavirus hospitalizations increased by 11 patients up to 511 — it was the first daily increase since Feb. 8. Cases are less than half of their recent peak.

There were 10 additional deaths reported, which brought the state total up to 7,572.
