CT Weather: Long-Duration Storm To Bring Heavy Rain, 40 MPH Wind Gusts
Another strong storm is forecast to impact Connecticut's weather for days. Here is an updated timeline and what we can expect.
CONNECTICUT ? Another strong storm is forecast to emerge for Connecticut beginning late Sunday and continuing into Tuesday.
Once again, the precipitation is forecast to be plain rain as temperatures will soar into the mid 50s. More than two inches of rain is possible, which could lead to flooding concerns. Strong wind gusts could also lead to power outages too.
"Saturday looks great with a good amount of sunshine with highs near 50 (for reference, our average high falls to 40 on the 16th of December, Saturday)," said WFSB 3 TV Chief Meteorologist Mark Dixon with Scot Haney. "Sunday now features increasing cloudiness as another storm system gets going well to our south. While the daylight hours are dry, rain showers become likely toward evening."

"With the track of this upcoming storm system, the new week begins -- again -- on a warm, wet, and windy note," Dixon and Haney said. "To the point we?ve declared a First Alert for Monday as we could receive over 2? of rain that could lead to nuisance flooding. The wind will also intensify, and with gusts over 40 mph, isolated power outages appear possible. Given the warm air with this storm, temps surging well into the 50s, no wintry precipitation is anticipated." (Watch/read more at WFSB 3 TV).
