CT Weather: Winter Weather Advisory Issued For Entire State

A winter weather advisory is in effect for all of Connecticut Tuesday. Here's how much snow and ice is expected to accumulate.

CONNECTICUT — It won't be the storm of the century or anything like that, but a nuisance storm may cause problems for motorists Tuesday evening and Wednesday morning.

A storm that is expected to drop between 1-4 inches of snow and ice on the state will begin Tuesday afternoon. The snow will be long duration but also very light and may also mix with some freezing rain, especially in southern Connecticut.

WTNH News 8 chief meteorologist Gil Simmons said he is "expecting the snow to start around noon in Greenwich and by 3-5 p.m. it will be snowing state wide."

"High temperatures in the 30s but dropping with the snow coming in," Simmons shared on social media. "Not a lot is expected it looks like 1 inch to 4 inches at most! It’ll tend to die out a bit overnight tonight and tomorrow morning. Severe cold and wind for the end of this week! A couple of systems to watch early next week!"
