Fire Destroys Popular Restaurant In Danielson

The restaurant's roof completely collapsed within 10 minutes of fire crews arriving at the scene, according to officials.

DANIELSON, CT — An overnight fire quickly tore through and destroyed a popular restaurant in Danielson. Fire crews responded to the Thai Basil restaurant at 187 North St. around 2 a.m. Friday.

“First arriving units reported fire through the roof, which completely collapsed within the first 10 minutes,” fire officials wrote in a post on Facebook.

No injuries were reported in the fire, according to FOX 61.

WFSB 3 reports Thai Basil, which had been there for 15 years, became well-known for being a favorite of Martha Stewart when she was in the area.
