Legendary CT Radio News Anchor Hangs Up The Mic

Angela Dias has been a morning fixture on Connecticut's airwaves for 35 years.

CONNECTICUT — Angela Dias, the longtime news anchor at Connecticut's WTIC-AM 1080, announced she is retiring this week after 35 years at the station, writes the Journal Inquirer.

Dias has been a warm, friendly voice in the mornings for thousands of listeners over the years, but the drive from her home in Colchester to the station in Farmington in the wee hours reportedly was starting to take a toll, she said.

She has been working with morning hosts Ray Dunaway and Joe D'Ambrosio for years, and her last day will be Friday.
