McDonald's Pledging 2,000-Plus New Jobs In Connecticut
McDonald's has announced a hiring spree in Connecticut.

CONNECTICUT — McDonald's Corporation expects to be adding more than 2,000 jobs at its restaurants in Connecticut for the warmer months in expectation of a busy summer season with dining rooms reopening.
The announcement was made Tuesday afternoon.
McDonald's officials put the summer number at 2,074 for both franchises and McDonald's company-owned restaurants in the state. A total of 77 new jobs are penciled in for Hartford.

"As local employers, we’re proud to provide employment and educational opportunities to our crew members and look forward to welcoming new employees to our McFamily this summer," said Aneka Young, a McDonald’s owner/operator. "We are a people business at our core, and as we welcome customers back into our dining rooms, the safety of our employees and customers is a top priority, as it has been throughout our 66-year history."
McDonald's officials said many of the news jobs feature flexible scheduling.

According to the job listings, employees can earn a high school diplomas, take ESL classes, get tuition assistance and receive free guidance from advisors through Archways to Opportunity, McDonald’s education and career advising program.
Archways to Opportunity is also geared to promote "opportunity and mobility for McDonald’s diverse employee community," officials said. That has translated to more than 50 percent of the participants being "individuals who identify as people of color" and nearly two-thirds being women," McDonald's officials said.
McDonald's is also touting investment in three major scholarship programs — HACER National Scholarships, the Thurgood Marshall Black and Positively Golden Scholarships and the McDonald’s/APIA Scholarship program.

In anticipation of dining rooms reopening, McDonald’s restaurants have implemented more than 50 coronavirus safety procedures.
They include, wellness and temperature checks, social distancing floor stickers, protective barriers at order points and masks and gloves for employees with the addition of new procedures and training.
Even after the summer er push, McDonald's officials ae projecting 2,440 new jobs in Connecticut.
