Memorial Day 2019 DUI Checkpoints In Connecticut: When And Where
CT State Police are reminding drivers to obey all laws this Memorial Day weekend. Several sobriety checkpoints are planned.
CONNECTICUT — Connecticut State Police will be busy patrolling the state's highways and setting up DUI checkpoints for the Memorial Day weekend. State Police arrested 38 intoxicated drivers during Memorial Day weekend 2018, charged more than 900 motorists with speeding and handed out nearly 400 seat belt violations.
There was one fatal crash and 62 crashes with injury handled by State Police during last year's Memorial Day weekend.
Police remind motorists and passengers to buckle up, stay off mobile devices, plan for potential travel days and stay sober while driving. Police also remind motorists to follow the state's "Move Over" law which requires vehicles approaching a stopped emergency vehicle to slow down and move into an adjacent lane unless its unsafe to do so.
