Obit: Barbara Stevens, 76, Of Oxford
She was a longtime employee of New Haven Savings Bank and a communicant of the Church of the Good Shepherd in Seymour.

Barbara A. Devine Stevens, age 76, of Oxford, the beloved wife of late Elston P. Stevens , entered into eternal rest peacefully on Friday, February 5, 2021 at her home surrounded by her loving family.
She was born in New Haven on November 29, 1944, daughter of the late Arnold and Mildred Mary Coughlin Devine. Barbara was a devout communicant of the Church of the Good Shepherd of Seymour, where she enjoyed teaching religious school for ten years. She was a longtime employee of New Haven Savings Bank, before her retirement. Barbara enjoyed family vacations which included camping, going to Wildwood and especially trips to the shore.

Most of all, Barbara loved to spend time with her four loving grandsons and her family. She will be sadly missed by all and remain forever in our hearts.
Barbara's family includes her two devoted sons, Timothy Stevens and his wife Jan of Ansonia and Gregory Stevens and his wife Jennifer of Seymour, her four loving grandsons Michael, James, Connor and Samuel, her two caring brothers Arnold "Buzz" Devine of Torrington and Joseph Devine of Litchfield, her loving uncle James Coughlin and his wife Maryann of North Haven, a caring niece Caroline Perry and her husband Matt, a caring nephew Joseph Devine and his wife Jennifer and kids , her former daughter-in-law Nancy Devine of Southbury, and several cousins.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, February 12, 2021 at 11:00 am DIRECTLY at St. Nicholas Parish, Church of the Good Shepherd, 135 Mountain Road, Seymour. Interment will follow in the family plot at St. Lawrence Cemetery in West Haven. Friends and relatives may attend a walk through visitation on Thursday, February 11,2021 at Miller-Ward Funeral Home, 260 Bank Street(Rt. 67, across from Klarides Village) from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm. Visitors will be asked to wear masks and adhere to social distancing requirements at all times. It is kindly asked all visitors enter the funeral home through the rear door and exit through front door after greeting the family to accommodate all guests.
