Once Again, Young People In CT Have Most New Coronavirus Cases

Gov. Ned Lamont said the fact younger people have the most new cases of the coronavirus in Connecticut shows the pandemic "isn't over."

CONNECTICUT — Connecticut reported 118 new coronavirus cases Thursday out of more than 12,000 tests, which kept the state's positive test rate below 1 percent.

The state reported one new coronavirus-related death, which brought the state total to 4,458.

Hospitalizations dropped by two patients down to a net of 47.

So far, there have been 51,432 confirmed coronavirus cases statewide and 1,012,810 people have been tested.

While Connecticut continues to defy national trends as its coronavirus numbers remain very low, Gov. Ned Lamont continued to share an ongoing concern.

"While we're seeing new cases in all age groups, people between 20-39 have the largest amount of new cases," Lamont said. "Continue to wear masks and social distance. This isn't over – let's beat this virus."

People older than 60 have the fewest new coronavirus cases, according to the numbers shared by the governor's office.
