CONNECTICUT — Connecticut Patch readers mostly agree with Gov. Ned Lamont's decision to change vaccine eligibility to an age-based system instead of offering it to front-line essential workers and people with pre-existing conditions first.

More than 1,600 Patch readers took the informal survey between Tuesday and noon Thursday.

Around 62 percent of Patch readers who took the survey said they strongly agreed or agreed with Lamont’s decision to change the vaccine roll-out process to an age-based system.

Vaccine sign-up and appetite

There is still plenty of demand for the vaccine in Connecticut. An overwhelming majority of respondents who said they haven’t gotten a vaccine dose yet said they plan to sign-up as soon as they become eligible.

Most surveyed readers who said they have gotten at least one vaccine dose said the sign-up process was relatively pain-free with around 60 percent rating the process a four or five on a scale of one to five. Around a quarter of respondents rated the process a three.
