Redding Roadwork Scheduled Through Rest of July

Signage and portable message boards will be used to help direct traffic.

REDDING, CT — The state Department of Transportation has announced the date for the 18-day detour for construction activities associated with the realignment of Long Ridge Road railroad-highway grade crossing in Redding.

The detour railroad-highway grade crossing closure is scheduled to start July 19 after 10:00 a.m. and last until 5:00 a.m. Aug. 5.

The contractor is allowed to fully detour traffic around the railroad crossing utilizing the following roads: Simpaug Turnpike, Topstone Road, Route 7 (Ethan Allen Highway), West Starrs Plain Road, Starrs Plain Road, West Redding Road, Long Ridge Road, Reservoir Road, Reservoir Street, Route 53 (Grassy Plain Street), Turkey Plain Road, Redding Road), and Side Cut Road.
