Some State Parks Closed Due to Reaching Parking Capacity Saturday

The state Department of Energy and Environmental Protection closes parks to new visitors once the parking lot capacity has been reached.

CONNECTICUT — Sunny and hot conditions Saturday, with high temperatures in the low 90s predicted by the National Weather Service, is prompting many people to get outdoors and head for state parks and beaches. Due to reaching capacity in their parking lots, several state parks have already been closed off by the Department of Energy and Environmental Protection.

Those parks, with the times the closures were reported, are:

  • Scantic River State Park, Enfield, 8:53 a.m.
  • Millers Pond State ark, Haddam, 2:20 p.m.
