Top Connecticut Official Tests Positive For Coronavirus: Report

CONNECTICUT — Connecticut's Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services Commissioner, Miriam Delphin-Rittmon, has tested positive for the coronavirus and is experiencing mild symptoms, according to media reports including NBC Connecticut.

She is quarantining at home. Gov. Ned Lamont and members of his senior staff are self-quarantining for 14 days after Lamont's Director of Communications Max Reiss tested positive for the coronavirus.

Reiss announced his diagnosis publicly Friday night on Twitter after Lamont's office put out a statement.

Lamont this week has continued making the media rounds from his home in Greenwich including calling into national cable television shows, conducting numerous radio interviews and holding a press briefing Monday.

U.S. Sen. Chris Murphy, D-Conn., said he tested negative for the virus after attending an event with Lamont on Friday.
