CONNECTICUT 一 Uber Technologies, Inc. (NYSE: UBER) today announced its plans to expand on-demand prescription delivery in Connecticut, powered by Nimble. Today’s expansion into the Nutmeg State follows a successful prescription delivery pilot in Dallas, Houston, and Austin, and launches in Miami, New York City, Los Angeles, San Diego, Orange County, Atlanta, and Chicago.

Through this partnership with Nimble, Uber Eats now connects Connecticuters with on-demand prescription delivery, where they can easily transfer existing prescriptions—or fulfill new ones—from neighborhood pharmacies right from their app. Controlled substances are ineligible as are prescriptions paid for—in whole or in part—by any government healthcare program such as Medicare, Medicaid, or TRICARE.
“Today’s launch of prescription delivery in Connecticut, powered by Nimble, brings Uber Eats one step closer to becoming your go-to destination for much more than food,” said Marta Anadon Rosinach, Uber Eat’s GM for New England. “It’s no surprise that people are looking for ways to safely and conveniently get the things they need every day, but especially now, and we’re proud to partner with Nimble to bring prescriptions right to their doorstep.”

With this expansion into Connecticut, Nimble continues to serve as a champion for neighborhood pharmacies, providing them opportunities to retain and grow their customer base by working with partners as accessible and committed to consumer needs as Uber.
“When it comes to the pharmacy experience, consumers have always had to choose between convenience and local loyalty,” said Nimble CEO and Founder, Talha Sattar. “But these should not be mutually exclusive. Our partnership with Uber Eats allows us to both help Connecticut pharmacies stay competitive, and offer millions of residents access to on-demand prescription delivery at a time when they need it most.”
Uber’s continued expansion of prescription delivery services will allow customers to manage prescriptions with the tap of a button, directly from the Uber Eats application—and follow their prescriptions at every step of the journey: from their phone to the pharmacy to their doorstep.
