Police said Bertrand is a UPS employee and was working with Burk when he assaulted him. Police said the motive was unclear.

Bertrand and Burk appeared to be traveling in the same vehicle, police said during a news conference Wednesday morning. A weapon was found, and it appeared it was used in the assault; police did not say what the weapon was.

An autopsy was scheduled for Burk.
