Woodbridge Police Investigate Gunfire Heard Near Bradley Road
Police investigators found "in excess of a dozen expended shell casings" in the area where witnesses said they heard gunfire.
WOODBRIDGE, CT — Police are currently investigating an overnight report of gunfire in the area of Litchfield Turnpike (Route 69) and Bradley Road.
The Woodbridge Police Department was notified before midnight on Thursday by multiple callers who reported hearing numerous gunshots in the area.
Police investigators found "in excess of a dozen expended shell casings near the intersection," according to a police report.

Further investigation revealed that both a private residence, as well as a vehicle parked in the
driveway of an additional residence, had been struck by gunfire. Police say that witnesses told them the incident involved two vehicles that departed northbound on Litchfield Turnpike. Shortly thereafter, Connecticut State Police on Litchfield Turnpike in Bethany identified a stolen vehicle matching the description of one provided by the witnesses.
The vehicle later "fled back into Woodbridge where it became disabled on Litchfield Turnpike, north of Clark Road, and the occupants fled into the woods," police officials said.

State and local police then searched the area, recovered a loaded handgun, and took three suspects were taken into custody.
The Connecticut State Police are investigating the stolen vehicle and weapon possession, and the Woodbridge Police Department is investigating the shooting incident.
