A Poem For A Friend: Dear Stacey

Today we walk with heavy hearts
Shaking our heads in disbelief- Suddenly feeling torn apart.
A beautiful angel was taken from us- Now we stand here left in the cold
A steady tear falls- Today we walk with empty souls.
A beautiful angel has taken a different path- One we cannot join in on
No longer walking hand in hand with us- Our memories of her become our favorite song.

And as we sit in a world that now seems dark and gray
Our beautiful angel watches over us, begging us to listen- She has something important to say.

She can see the pain and she can feel our tears
As she too now looks back to remember all of her years.
She reminds us that our memories will carry us through
And wishes we wouldn't cry- Even though she understands it is all we can seem to do.

She wants us to remember that in life, we only have what we give
And that to really make our days count, every morning you have to wake up and live.

Be the one to change a persons day- Just like she has so many times before
Never asking for anything back, never asking for anything more.
She reminds us to lead with our hearts, as this is the only way to live true
And that it's okay to tell people I'll always be here and I'll always love you.
It's what she's told us many times before and it is what she is whispering to us now

We have to continue to live each day, make our beautiful angel smile down on us- Make her proud.
Remember her smile, her laugh, the way she could light up a room
Remember the subtle way she reminded you- She'll see you soon.
Take a deep breath and look to the sky
Today we walk with a beautiful angel by our side.
