BERLIN, CT — Each year the Berlin Police Department along with law enforcement agencies around the State participate in the Connecticut Special Olympics Law Enforcement Torch Run. The Torch Run is a major fundraising event to support the Connecticut Special Olympic games each year. The 2021 Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics Connecticut was held on June 17th, 2021. This is the 35th year that the Berlin Police Department has participated. The run through Berlin covered approximately seven miles.

On behalf of Chief John Klett, our Special Olympics coordinator Officer Mark DePinto, and the entire Berlin Police Department, would like to express our sincere thanks to participating staff members, the citizens of Berlin, and our local businesses that supported this worthwhile cause. Your generous support enabled the Berlin Police Department to raise $2,610.00 for the Connecticut Special Olympics this year.
