The Healing Art of Reiki on March 4

 

Adult Winter Reading Club: Warm Up with a Good Book. Celebrate your love of reading and enter weekly prize drawings. Sign up online at http://www.berlinpeck.lib.ct.us/ Reading club participants can come in to pick up tickets for the March 5th tea party. As part of our winter "Warm Up" program we are asking reading club participants to donate a can of soup (or other non-perishable food item) for the community food pantry so that others may warm up as well.
 
The Healing Art of Reiki: March 4 at 6:30pm. Learn more about this form of Japanese energy healing used to help relieve stress and promote health and relaxation. Please contact the library at 860-828-7125 to reserve a seat.
 
Peter F. Burns Jr., author of Shock the World: UConn Basketball in the Calhoun Era will discuss his book at the library on Wednesday, March 6th at 6:30. Books will be available for purchase and signing. Please contact the library to reserve a seat.
 
Sit and Knit on Thursday March 7 and March 21 at 6 pm. Do you know how to knit, but following a pattern is difficult for you? Are you a beginner who can barely cast on? Would you like to meet some new people and sit and knit? Join Gina Kahn for a relaxing knitting session.
 
Investors' Group meeting on March 12 at 1:30. Learn about stock market tools. No registration necessary.
 
Foreign Film Showing on March 25 at 6pm. Join us for a viewing of the movie, All About My Mother. No registration necessary. Please note, the film is rated R.
 
Book Club on March 26 at 7pm. Join us for a discussion of the book The Art of Hearing Heartbeats by Sendker. All welcome.
 
Income Tax Assistance on Tuesdays throughout tax season: Tax Aide is a free program, providing income tax preparation assistance for low and middle-income taxpayers of all ages, with special attention to those 60 and older. Call the library at 860-828-7125 to schedule an appointment. The senior center is also providing this service on Thursdays throughout tax season.
 
Homebound Services: For those unable to get to the library due to disability, illness or advanced age, volunteers will deliver library materials to your residence. Please contact the library at 860-828-7125 if you could benefit from this new service
