Bears B-1 Team Beats South Windsor 38-6

The Berlin Bears B1 team started the scoring on the first drive on Sunday against the Panthers of South Windsor when Connor Giudice made a 55 yard run to make the score 6-0. Giancarlo Tufano's kick split the uprights to top off the drive at 8-0.

South Windsor's one and only score came on their next drive to make the score 8-6. From there the Bears never looked back.

Sam Capodice threw a laser to Pat Ladas for a 70-yard TD. Tufano's kick was good again to put the Bears up 16-6. The next score came from Ladas again on a 10-yard run. Capodice was able to connect yet again with Giudice on a 23-yard strike, capped off with another kick through the up rights, making the score 30-6.

The last scoring drive was capped off with a pass from Capodice to Malachi Burby. With the point after attempt splitting the uprights the final score was 38-6. 

Defensively, the Bears were strong and stingy. Tyler Dinkins and Kevin Dunn came up with several big tackles and Matt Reilly's interception held the Panthers to only he six they scored in the first quarter.

Other notables were the entire defensive line James Mazzarella, Greg Carson, Nick Paszczuck, Ryan Michaud, Ryan Terlecky, Tyler Tralli, Evan Graves, and Dom Lattarulo. The Panthers barely gained a yard after their first scoring drive.

The Bears play Bloomfield next Sunday in Bloomfield.
