The Berlin Bears A team improved its record to 4-2 with a 26-6 victory over East Hartford Sunday afternoon at Sage Park.
The Bears jumped to a 14-0 first quater lead on touchdown passes to Matt Stapell and Mitch Maslowski from QB Jack Lynch. Ricky Nappi and Jack Hamel ran for the final two Berlin scores. Marc D'Amore and Nathan Comstock also ran the ball well for Berlin.
The Bears offensive line was stellar the entire game led by Steven Bienkowski, Michael Pasczcuk, JJ Moss and Noah Villella.
The Berlin defense dominated all afternoon allowing only a late fourth quarter score. The defense was led by Cole Wendehack, Spencer Duke, Nick Lojko, Danny Labbadia, Nick Zuk, Quin Burns, Nathan Graves and Andrew Wusterbarth.
The Bears play host to East Hampton Sunday at 11 a.m. at Scalise Field at Sage Park.
B Team

Berlin 32, East Hartford 6
The Bears B1 played an almost flawless game against the Hornets allowing only six points in the fourth quarter. The scoring began from the opening kick off when Connor Giudice ripped off a 70-yard run to put the Bears on top. Giancarlo Tufano split the uprights to make the score 8-0.
The next score came on a pass from Sam Capodice to Giudice. They connected on a 10-yard laser and Tufano once again split the up rights making the score 16-0. Patrick Ladas punched in the next score from 15 yards out capping off a 12-minute drive from the Berlin Bears. Point after attempt was good by Tufano making the score 24-0. The last score came on another Capodice pass to Malachi Burby. They connected for a 10-yard score and Tufano once again split the uprights.
The Bears front line protected Capodice and opened up big holes. The line of James Mazzarella, Kevin Stafstrom, Tyler Tralli, Ryan Terlecky, Greg Carson and Dominic Lattarullo, had an outstanding day. The Bears defense combine for three interceptions by Tyler Cop, Kevin Dunn and Tyler Burek while only letting up six points.
The Bears play East Hampton This Sunday at Scalise Field at Sage Park.
C Team
East Hartford 24, Berlin 12
D Team
East Hartford 13, Berlin 12
East Hartford returned the opening kick-off to put Berlin D in a hole but from that point on, the Bears D team outscored East Hartford 12-7.
Berlin got a long touchdown run from Daniel Koops on a great second effort. He was swarmed by Hornets but somehow came out of the pack to score from 65 yards out. The extra point run by Jamie Palmese was caled just short leaving the score 13-6.
Justin Skates connected with Max Wojtusik on a 55-yard touchdown throw and catch to close the defeicit to 13-12 with under a minute to go in the game. The conversion run was no good and the Hornets held on for the victory.
The defense was led by Wojtusik, Riley Soybel, Shawn Scalia, Nick Adams, Dan Veronesi, Chase LaPierre and Noah Cintron, who had an interception.
Berlin D plays host to East Hampton Sunday at 3 p.m. at Scalise Field.
