Berlin Advances to Football Championship Game

The Redcoats are seeking their first state title since 2009.

WALLINGFORD, CT — Berlin High School continues its quest for its first football state championship in nine years, after defeating Sheehan 34-22 in the Class M semifinals Monday night in Wallingford.

The Redcoats, seeded third, will tangle with top-seeded St. Joseph Saturday in the title matchup, at a site and time to be announced.

Berlin will be making its ninth trip to a championship game, but has won just once: a 46-6 rout of Bethel in the Class M finals in 2009.
