Berlin Boy's Golf Team Could Surprise

The whole league will feature new players so it is up for grabs.

The Berlin Boy's Golf Team went 23-4 last season but will look a little different this season.

With that being said, don't look for the Redcoats to fall too far from the top of the CCC South standing.

Back to lead the Redcoats will be senior Ryan Marquis, Nick Martino and Geoff Magisano. Also back are juniors Austin Forauer, Chris Samiotis and Brian Bostom.

According to coach John Line, Marquis is a "Steady player capable of shooting a low score. We look to him for leadership and positive attitude."

Martino "has improved each year. If that is true this year, he will be mentioned often in news stories."

"Geoff quietly posts a good number. Steady and confident, he takes care of business," Line said of Magisano.

Line said Austin Forauer may have a break-out year. "Austin has the most upside on the team," Line said. "Might be All-State before he graduates, either this year or next or both. Has the mental make-up and drive."

Line said "Samiotis has not played varsity, but hits a big ball. Looking forward to seeing his progress this year. Great influence"

Brian Bostrom "Is also is new to varsity. Great mental make-up. Looking forward to seeing his progress this year," Line added.

Line said the CCC South is up for grabs and rates his team as a contender.

"In the CCC South Plainville is well coached; Bristol Central is always competitive and knows how to win; Bristol Eastern always has good players and Maloney can surprise," he said.
