Berlin Football Will Play Home Playoff Game Tuesday

Official pairings come out today at noon.

 

The Berlin football team secured the second spot in the Class M rankings with a 9-1 season.

With that number two seed comes a home playoff game at Scalise Field Tuesday night at a time to be determined but likely 6 p.m.

Though the official pairings will not be announced until noon on Friday it appears Berlin will play host to Bullard Havens Tech of Bridgeport, which finished the season 8-2.

Wolcott is the number one seed at 9-1 followed by Berlin, Ellington/Somers 9-1, Hillhouse 8-2, St. Joseph 8-2, Weston 8-2, Bullard-Havens 8-2 and Montville 8-2.

Berlin's lone loss came to Platt, which also qualified for a state playoff berth at 8-2. Berlin also beat Rocky Hill, 9-1, a state playoff team in Class S.

The Hillhouse-St. Joseph first round game could be the best game of the Class M playoffs.

Bullard-Havens owns wins over: Putnam/Tourtellotte/Ellis Tech, Wolcott Tech, Abbott Tech, Cheney Tech, Wilcox Tech, Platt Tech, O'Brien Tech and Bassick and lost to Prince Tech and Capital/Classical/Achievement.
