Berlin Girl's Golf Gets Back On Track With Two Wins

Redcoats put up solid score on tough Glastonbury Hills CC course.

The Berlin Girls Golf Team extended its season record to 11 wins against 1 defeat with victories against Glastonbury and Woodstock Academy Tuesday at Glastonbury Hills Country Club. Final team scores were Berlin 175, Glastonbury 182 and Woodstock Academy 243.

Berlin was led by match medalist, Julia Kemmling, who posted a fine round of 41 on the tough par 36 track. Ashley D'Attilio added a 43, Abbie Underwood continued her fine play with a 44 and Emily Deutsch rounded out the scoring with a 47.

Berlin plays again on Wednesday against Hall and Northwest Catholic at Rockledge Golf course in West Hartford.

"It was important for us to get back to our winning ways after our tough loss to Farmington yesterday," Berlin coach Jim Barnes said. "We have had a very tough road stretch, five away matches in a row, and I think the girls are a little fatigued. We are on the road again tomorrow but then get back to Timberlin next week. We could use some home cooking right about now"
