Berlin High School Unified Theater to Present 'Around the World'
The first-ever Unified Theater production will be held on Friday, June 9 in the Berlin High School Auditorium.
From Berlin High School: The first-ever Unified Theater production will be held on Friday, June 9, at 4:30 p.m. in the Berlin High School Auditorium! Between the actors and the stage crew, 30 students participate in Unified Theater. Staff advisor Tara Gallagher volunteers her time at rehearsals. Junior Marissa Pettinelli started Berlin High School’s Unified Theater program along with a student executive board consisting of Christina Petry, Gabe Ramsey, Lauren Ferraguto, Noah Seguljic and the many other students who made great efforts to make this possible. This year’s theme is “Around the World,” where students will visit six different countries.
Unified Theater helps to dissolve barriers between youth through transformative, school-based performing arts. Young people, with and without disabilities, of all backgrounds and no theater experience all come together. For this Unified Theater production, students wrote their own lines and made all the props. At Unified Theater, everyone is equal and the spotlight is on ability.
