Berlin High Wrestlers Score Major Win

Redcoats take down Bristol Central and next host Art Powers Duals Saturday.

 

The Berlin wrestling team took a major step forward Wednesday night in defeating Bristol Central. Last year BC defeated Berlin 57-15. Berlin's record is now 12-5 with most of the losses to teams that have spent time in the top 10.

Key victories were turned in by Bill Conticello who bumped up to 222 lbs. to earn a pin for the Redcoats. Mike Burek continues to impress with his victory. He now has a record of 13-3. Jeremy Eilades was impressive in his first match down at 128 as was Ethan Greider who was down at 122 for the first time this year.

Kevin Perruccio earned two last period takedowns to earn a hard fought victory at 140 lbs. Jake Eliades and Rick Mullins continue to compete at a very high level. Jake is now 14-1 while Rick is now 19-1. Riley Greider continues to ride a hot streak of 6 straight victories in a row.

The Redcoats are in action this Saturday as they host the Art Powers Duals. Teams competing are Trumbull, Terryville- Coached by BHS Alumni Peter Veleas, RHAM- Joe Cleary, an alumni is an asst. coach at RHAM, Waterford and Lyman Memorial.
