Berlin May Enact Leash Law
Discussion of the ordinance comes after the town was sued twice.

BERLIN, CT - The town's ordinance committee is considering enacting a law that would require dogs to be on a leash or electronic collar on public property, according to The Meriden Record-Journal. The proposed new law comes after two lawsuits against the town related to dog bites.
Currently, town law defers to the state requirement that dogs be under their owner's control in public, which includes giving an unleashed dog verbal commands.
