Berlin Minutemen Wrestling Starts Strong
Young wrestlers bring home first place trophy in home tournament.

The Berlin Minutemen hosted their annual youth tournament on Sunday, January 6 at Berlin High School.Â
In the morning session the young Minutemen brought home the first place team trophy while scoring 30.5 points.

The results were: Mighty Mites; 1st Mason Hill, 3rd Colin Peck, 4th Camden Santiago. Bantams; 1st Cayden Hill and Niko Koops, 2nd Zachary Skinner, 3rd Matthew Koops and Marcus Kelly-Johnson and 4th Luke Maguder. Intermediate Division; 2nd Braden Shea, Mike Lukaszewski and Connor Gileau, 3rd place Nicholas Martin, 4th place John Newman, Isaac Cortes, Jenna Peck and 5th place Rory Mayer.
In the afternoon Novice Division Daniel Veleas took first place, Serge Duquette 3rd place and Vinny DeFrancesco 4th place. In the Middle School Division Josh Veleas took 1st, Michael and Dylan Daniels took 2nd, Tanner Parmelee 3rd and Niko Fusco 5th due to an injury.

The tournament drew wrestlers mainly from throughout Connecticut but also included Massachusetts, New York and this year Neveda.
