
Annunziata “Nancy” Ficocelli, 79, of Berlin, passed away suddenly on March 13, 2018.
Nancy was born on May 15, 1938 in Sepino, province of Compobasso, Italy and was the daughter of the late Luigi and Flaminia (Tiberio) Ficocelli. At the age of 11, Nancy immigrated to the U.S. growing up in Hartford. Nancy was a talented seamstress, over the years she created beautiful wedding gowns and formal wear.
She was an active member for many years of the Mt. Carmel/St. Cristina Society, St. Anthony Society, Our Lady of Grace and the Sons of Italy, Ella Grasso Lodge. Nancy was an extremely good cook, she loved preparing delicious meals for her family and friends always welcoming you to her table. She also enjoyed gardening and creating beautifully crocheted doilies.

Nancy was devoted to her faith, a true friend to everyone she knew but most of all, nothing compared to the love she had for her family. Everyone who knew Nancy felt her compassion, she always wished for her family and friends to be happy.
She sadly leaves behind her children, Maria Marena of Hebron, Teodoro Marena and his wife Janet of San Jose, CA, Sandra Baldinger and her husband Adam of Wellesley, MA and Diana Lynch of Wethersfield. Her beloved grandchildren Gina, Adam, Cristina, Enzo, Dante and Matthew and her great granddaughter Gabryelle. She also leaves her sister Carmina Cusano of Middletown along with several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Nancy was predeceased by her brother Valentino Ficocelli.

Funeral services will begin at 9 a.m. on Monday, March 19, 2018 from the D’Esopo Funeral Chapel, 277 Folly Brook Boulevard, Wethersfield, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at St. Josephine Bakhita Parish (St. James Church), 767 Elm Street, Rocky Hill. Burial will be at Mt. Saint Benedict Cemetery in Bloomfield. The family will receive relatives and friends on Sunday from 3-6 at the funeral chapel.
