Robert M. Olson, 59, of Berlin, died peacefully on Wednesday, Aug. 1, 2018, with his family by his side. Bob was the beloved husband and best friend of Joan (Harrington) Olson.
Born in Hartford, Dec. 21, 1958, he was the son of Frieda Olson of Newington and the late Fred Olson. Raised in Newington, he resided in Berlin for the past 20 years. Rob graduated from Newington High School and Franklin Pierce University in New Hampshire.
He retired from Hartford Financial Services after 29 years of employment. He was a big fan of the New York Giants and the Boston Red Sox, loved to golf and enjoyed many hours fishing.

Along with his wife and mother, he leaves his brother John Frederick Olson, Jr., and his fiancée Dianne Fabrocini of Ludlow, MA, his sister Jane Tobin and her husband Toby of Berlin, and several nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to call on Tuesday, Aug. 7 from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m at Duksa Family Funeral Homes at Newington Memorial, 20 Bonair Ave., Newington. A Celebration of his Life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday at Newington Memorial. He will be laid to rest privately in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Hartford.
