Berlin Peck Hosts Adult and Children's Programs Coming Up This Month

Plenty of hot programs at the library where you can stay cool.

2013 Summer Reading Program: Visit our website http://www.berlinpeck.lib.ct.us/ and click on the link for the Adult Summer Reading Program.  Everyone who signs up receives a coupon for a free Praline's ice cream!  Each time you read a book over the summer, enter it on this site and the title will count as an entry into our weekly prize drawings and the grand prize for a Kindle!

Henna Tattoos: July 9 at 5:30 p.m. Tattoos are temporary and may last a week or two. Please contact the library to make an appointment.

Movie Showing: July 12 at 1 p.m.  Join us for a showing of the movie, Quartet, starring Maggie Smith. This film is rated PG-13.  Drinks and cookies will be provided. Please contact the library to reserve a seat.

Zentangle for Teens Workshop: July 16, 23, 30 at 10:30 a.m.  Zentangle is an easy-to-learn, relaxing, and fun way to create beautiful images by drawing patterns. The workshop is taught by artist Susan Rosano, through a grant funded by the Community Foundation of Greater New Britain. This program is for teens grades 8 and up. Work will be exhibited at the New Britain Museum of Art. Space is limited. 

New Britain Symphony: Tango Ensemble: July 24 at 6:30 p.m.  Bring your own lawn chairs and join us on the front lawn of the library for New Britain Symphony's Tango Ensemble. All welcome.

Duct Tape Craft Program: July 24 at 3:30 p.m. Join us for an afternoon of duct tape crafting.  For kids entering grades 5 and up.  Contact the library to register.

Civil War Program: July 25 at 7 p.m.

Movie Showing: July 26 at 1 p.m.  Join us for a showing of the movie, Moonstruck. This film is rated PG. Drinks and cookies will be provided.  Please contact the library to reserve a seat.

Foreign Film: July 29 at 6 p.m.  A showing of the film, O’Horten.  Please contact the library to register. This film is rated PG-13.

Senior Center Book Discussion: July 31 at 1:30 p.m.  A Year on Ladybug Farm by Donna Ball. Join us for a special book discussion held at the Berlin Senior Center. Copies of the book will be available for pickup at the library. Please contact the library to register.

Children’s Department – summer schedule

Summer reading theme is Dig into Reading.  Children read one book and have their photo taken and displayed in the library and school;  read for 40 days and choose a paperback from the Friends book sale.

Cool Movies for Summer Afternoons

All ages.  No registration.  Drop-in. Tuesdays at 2:30.
